The Story Behind For Harley Pet Company

We didn’t start this because we wanted to start a pet store.

We started this because nothing was working for Harley.

Harley is our Great Dane. In July 2023, we found her through Tooper’s Treasures in Chattanooga after her parents were rescued and her litter needed homes.

We will forever be grateful to Tooper’s Treasures for bringing Harley into our lives. They gave her and her siblings a second chance, and we cannot imagine our family without her.

I went to meet her and brought her home that same day.

From the beginning, something seemed off.

She had constant stomach issues. Not occasional. Constant.

It turned into a cycle of trying new foods, switching treats, reading every ingredient label, and hoping something would finally work. Most of the time, it didn’t.

The products that promise everything rarely deliver. And when you’re dealing with a sensitive dog, you don’t get the luxury of guessing wrong over and over again.

So we stopped guessing.

We started paying closer attention. What actually works. What doesn’t. What feels unnecessary.

Eventually, with the help of the right vet, we found a solution that worked for her: a Purina Pro Plan HA vegetarian diet. Since then, things have stabilized, but her stomach is still extremely sensitive. That hasn’t changed. It just means everything we give her has to be intentional.

At home, she has a five-year-old Goldendoodle sister, Clarke, who can eat just about anything without a second thought. Seeing that difference every day is a reminder that not every dog can be treated the same.

That’s how For Harley Pet Company was created.

Everything here is chosen with intention. Simpler ingredients. Products that are easier on sensitive stomachs. Things we would actually use ourselves without second guessing.

We’re not here to overcomplicate things or sell products just to sell them. We’re here because we know how exhausting it feels to search for answers, spend money on products that don’t work, and constantly wonder if you’re making the right choice for your dog.

Our goal is to make that journey a little easier by sharing products Harley tolerates, products we trust, and the lessons we’ve learned along the way.

And as a small business built from one dog’s story, every visit, follow, share, and order helps us continue growing this mission and reaching more pet parents who may be going through the same thing.
